Sailing last week Windguru proved a good guide on the wind strength and direction - another North Easterly offshore 7 - 10 knots, but no sunshine
The breeze varied enough to ensure brains (or luck) were required as well as brawn.
There were 6 Lasers on a short start line which made for some interesting incidents.
Congratulations to Mark 'big cowboy hat' Stitson and Ron 'Ee Biggs' Westcott on their podium finishes and Ron in particular for shrugging off any rustiness on his comeback.
Stew 'The Lever' A and Michael 'VC' T were also right in the mix and narrowly missed out on a top 3 finish.
Well done Jean 'intrepid' D for hanging in there for (quite possibly) a couple of handicap wins
Thanks to Hugh S and Stuart J in White Eagle, Adrian M in the hut, Mike R for manning the winch, heating the soup and everyone for sharing it with us.
Sailing this Sunday The weather looks set for yet another North Easterly offshore breeze, similar to last week.
This week we welcome back our Laser Fleet Captain (after his exploits in the Bicton Blister) to show us how it should be done.
Hopefully either this week or next we will also be welcoming one or three more helms from Sidmouth SC, who will have finished their season over there.
We have Hugh S and Stuart J in White Eagle and Paul K in the hut.
Join us in the Clubhouse for a cup of tea or an après sail lunch around 1.30pm
Offers to help us ashore by manning the winches around 12.45pm - 1.00pm would be very much appreciated.
Check the conditions for Sunday morning yourself on Windguru
So be there or be forever square On the beach, on the water, on the start line, sheet in, Go !
