Beer Sailing Club Newsletter

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick update on membership. If you have already renewed - thank you - then the Race Card is now available on the website, beersailingclub.co.uk - please see under the ‘Sailing’ or ‘Social’ tabs.  Copies of the programme should also be available in the clubhouse very shortly.

If you have paid to have your boat on the beach, 2018 stickers will be available at the club for locals and I will post them to members who live further away

If you renewed on or before 15th March please note there is a change to the Social Diary - the date for the last Open Sailing Sunday is now 16th September, not the 26th August as previously advertised as this clashes with Sidmouth Regatta.

If you haven’t yet renewed please visit the website or contact me for details at sarah_taylor_14@yahoo.co.uk

Many thanks for your continued support,
Sarah

A great big thank you to everyone who turned up to help today. We got loads done but the wet weather meant we couldn’t paint the starter hut and shed.  So if you couldn’t make it on Saturday, you are in luck, there are still some jobs to do.

  1. Jet wash concrete paths, terrace and changing room floors – included all patio furniture, just about finished and Kevin said he will finish off during the week
  2. Repaint shed starter hut and fence – still to do
  3. Cut grass behind the shed and terrace glass where safe to do so – cut including some of the bush but could do with a hedge trimmer on an extension to finish.
  4. Tidy up hedge behind the hut – retrieved the two buffs, now in the yard, do we still want them?
  5. Clean showers and toilets – jet washed floor and duckboards and wiped out, gents toilet could do with a final wipe through
  6. Touch up paint in showers and toilets – changing room paint OK  just brushed down walls to remove bugs and cobwebs shower curtains removed for washing
  7. Paint walls of disabled toilet/shower - repainted disabled changing room and toilet, the floor needs final mop through
  8. Clean white woodwork, skirtings architraves – all done and looks good as new
  9. Clean tables and chairs – all legs, bases and tops wiped clean
  10. We also jet washed the wall boarding that was beginning to go a bit green
  11. Hut on beach sorted out
  12. Checked out winch, STILL NEED TO FIT RENOVATED DRUM.
  13. Looked to see how to get engine off new RIB so it can be turned upside down to add fibreglass to keep, cant see how to do this easily or without professional help??????
  14. Removed rope barrier and signs from wooden walkway it could do with a repaint but not too bad
  15. Completed clean of bar and kitchen, now looking spotless.
  16. Veronica will hoover carpet after coffee on Wednesday
  17. We also looked at the pine cupboard in the starters hut, don’t think we need it and it takes up the room, any offers?
SUMMARY OF JOBS LEFT
  1. PAINT STARTER AND STORE HUT
  2. WASH DISABLED AND MENS TOILET FLOORS
  3. COMPLETE JET WASHING OF CONCRETE
  4. SORT OUT WINCH DRUM
  5. SORT OUT HOW WE CAN FIBREGLASS BOTTOM OF NEW RIB
  6. REMOVE VEGETATION CUT BACK CURRENTLY IN THE YARD
  7. LOOKING AT THE LHS WALL OF ENTRANCE TO CHANGING ROOM AND THE MENS TOILET I THINK THEY COULD BOTH DO WITH A COAT OF PAINT BUT NOT URGENT
