Newsletter As we approach the end of the 2016 season, here’s a sneaky peek forward to what’s happening over the winter and into 2017. Annual General Meeting The club’s AGM will be held on the evening of Tuesday 8th November. Please come along to hear what has happened over the year, elect the new committee and (most importantly) let us know what you think about the way the club is run. Social events Angie and her team continue to offer a variety of events to satisfy all tastes. Wednesday morning Coffee Club continues until 16th November. There will then be 4 weeks of Soup Kitchens (until 14th December). At this point the ladies take a well-earned break with coffee mornings restarting in February.
There is also the Trophy Presentation and meal on Sunday 6th November and the Christmas dinner on Saturday 10th December. Further details of these events will be circulated in due course.
Angie would love to hear from any members who are willing to help out with social events such as there. You can contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org Winter Sailing The winter sailing series is fast approaching, this can offer some of the best sailing conditions of the year when the sea is at its warmest and hopefully there will be a good turnout of sailors.
Sailing cannot take place without the help of those in the race hut and in the patrol boat with the patrol boat needing 2 persons. Whilst the race hut is fully manned for winter sailing, we would love to add to the list of volunteers who help out at the top of the cliff.
Volunteers are still required for the patrol boat, both as helm and crew. Previous experience is not required, training will be given.
All help is appreciated, please contact Michael Taylor on 07811 444769 or email@example.com if you are available to assist.
Let’s try and keep the sailing going, Beer offers the best sailing on the East Devon coast and it would be a shame if it disappeared. Laser Masters Qualifier, 13th / 14th May 2017 We have been asked to host this prestigious event next spring, which generally attracts the best part of 100 competitors aged 35 or more for a weekend of racing. We will need to involve an army of helpers on the water, on the beach and in the Clubhouse. Please make a note of the date, and let any member of the committee know if you can help for some or all of the weekend. Experience not essential (but welcome!) – we will be happy to help newcomers who would like to help out.
