Important first notice:
The planned Fishy Night has been changed to Friday 19th May (instead of the advertised 20th May). Menu details and the booking form will be circulated shortly.
Now for the April News. Sailing is underway! 4 lasers enjoyed the hazy sunshine on Sunday the 9th of April with a light South Easterly breeze. Having worked up an appetite, it was a shame to see the seagulls enjoying the food on the balcony. Take heed all those who leave food unattended outside!
Meanwhile the Club Race Officer course was also underway in the club house. A successful day of learning for all those that attended. Hopefully, there will be a power-point presentation summarising the course available shortly. Please let us know if you are interested in receiving a copy.
Reminders from previous newsletters:
Planning is underway for the Laser Masters Qualifier event which we will be hosting over the weekend of 13th and 14th May. Helpers are needed on the beach, on the water and in the clubhouse so please let Geoff Adkin (firstname.lastname@example.org, Tel: 01297 24522) if you can help in any way.
We are always looking out for helpers in the Patrol Boat and the Race Hut for club sailing. If you would like to be involved, please contact Michael Taylor (email@example.com, Tel: 07811 444769). We will be happy to provide any training required.
There have been a few instances of furniture and equipment being ‘borrowed’ from the Clubhouse recently. You need to seek the permission of a Committee Member before taking anything away, record the loan in the book hanging on the notice board in the Clubhouse AND RETURN THE BORROWED ITEMS PROMPTLY.
We need to put together an up-to-date list of all Clubhouse key-holders. Please let Hugh know if you have a key.
That’s all for now. We look forward to seeing you at the Club before long.
