Here we are at the start of the new sailing season, and there’s plenty of news to tell you about:
The Wednesday coffee mornings start again this week (8th March). The first social event of the year, an Italian Theme supper, will be held on Friday 7th April. Flyers have been sent out - please book early if you want to attend.
Planning is underway for the Laser Masters Qualifier event which we will be hosting over the weekend of 13th and 14th May. Helpers are needed on the beach, on the water and in the clubhouse so please let Geoff Adkin (email@example.com, Tel: 01297 24522) if you can help in any way.
Membership renewals are now due. Details will be circulated shortly, or you can find them in the Membership area of the website https://www.beersailingclub.co.uk/membership.asp We are introducing online submission of renewals and payment of subs this year.
We are always looking out for helpers in the Patrol Boat and the Race Hut for club sailing. If you would like to be involved, please contact Michael Taylor (firstname.lastname@example.org, Tel: 07811 444769). We will be happy to provide any training required.
There will be a day of Club Race Officer training at the club on Sunday 9th April, conducted by the RYA’s Race Management Co-ordinator for the South West, Mike Johnson. All welcome – no previous experience needed. Contact Hugh Sutherland (email@example.com, Tel: 01395 514618) if you would like to be included.
There have been a few instances of furniture and equipment being ‘borrowed’ from the Clubhouse recently. You need to seek the permission of a Committee Member before taking anything away, record the loan in the book hanging on the notice board in the Clubhouse AND RETURN THE BORROWED ITEMS PROMPTLY.
We need to put together an up-to-date list of all Clubhouse keyholders. Please let Hugh know if you have a key.
That’s all for now. We look forward to seeing you at the Club before long.
