June is here and so is the good weather! This month promises to be a jam-packed fun-filled affair with plenty of sailing, racing and socialising planned for our members.
Monday nights from 6pm.
First up, a reminder that the club is open on a Monday from 6pm. The bar will also be open so come along, enjoy the views and throw off the worries of your day. Guests are always welcome, please remember to sign them in. The perfect start to the week!
Friday the 16th of June is our steak night. Book your places now to avoid disappointment. See the bottom of the email for the menu, reservation slip and contact details for Sarah Taylor.
The first instalment of 'Saturday Splash' for 2019 takes place on June the 9th. Plans are for the same format as last year. Weather permitting, meet on the beach/clubhouse 4.30. Nichola will probably be up at the clubhouse and Alan will be on the beach. Bring your wetsuits, buoyancy aids if you have them (the club has a few to lend out) and pizzas. The bar will be open by 7ish. It will be great to get out and have a play on the water. Nichola and Alan are very keen to set us a new challenge, 'Let’s see if we can get all of the club’s boats sailed in this year’s Beer Regatta?'

Axe Yacht Club and Beer Sailing Club continued their collaboration on the water this Sunday. The two clubs met in the middle of the bay for a joint race. Axe yacht club supplied the bulk of the boats but Beer SC contributed a fab 4, 3 of which made it to the start line in time whilst James Green was left stranded by the failing breeze. Unfortunately, there was too little wind to complete more than just one lap so the rest of the racing was cancelled. Something to build on. Look out for the second instalment coming up soon, I reckon we can get at least another 4 or 5 out by then!
If you want to get involved with the sailing but would rather keep your feet dry, Why not join the race hut team and get a birds-eye view of the action? Never too far from a hot cuppa! We can also take you afloat on the RIB to take a closer peek as part of the safety/course laying crew, full training will be given. You'll then be able to marvel at the one handed operation of the newly installed 'trunk adjuster'. Find Paul Thompson to learn more!
