Hello Sailors

Regatta Success
Beer Regatta was a resounding success both on and off the water. Well Done to all those taking part in the sailing and thereby contributing to the BSC cheque for £650 donated to the Beer Regatta Committee. Thank you to everyone who helped out on the water, on the beach, and in the clubhouse - a special vote of thanks to all those who kept us fed and watered on both Thursday and Saturday.

After all the excitement of Regatta the next social event is the return of our
Supper Club on Friday 26th September

Racing Report
The Laser fleet continues to keenly contest the Thursday and Sunday Series with just a few races to go before the end of the summer
On the Travelling Circuit
One good way to improve your racing skills is to make the effort and travel to Open Meetings at different venues. You get experience of different conditions, different competitors and there is also the possibility of picking up new techniques.
Congratulations to Mike 'VC' Taylor on his 3rd place in his Laser at Sidmouth Regatta in testing conditions and a mention in despatches for Percy Mitchell for winning the Luggers at Sidmouth Regatta on the same day.

If you didn't catch it in the local news - Congratulations to Daniel Thompson on becoming the International Topper Class Association 4.2 World Champion at Pwllheli, North Wales

And well done James G and James T for following up their creditable 12th place in the RS800 European Championships on Lake Garda with an even better 7th at the National Championships in Plymouth

Don't miss the Ladies' Charity Fashion Event Tuesday 30th September

Bart’s Bash – Sunday 21st September
Bart’s Bash – Sunday 21st September. If we are to be recognised as a participating club in the Guinness World Record attempt, we must have a minimum of 25 boats on the start line. The race will be included in our normal Sunday sailing programme. It will be 1km in length and around 30 minutes in duration. If you intend to participate you must register through the Bart’s Bash website so please sign up so that you can sail, it costs nothing but your efforts won't count unless you are registered.

Sailing Club Winches
The Sailing Club winches are there to make life easier for everyone to go sailing. If you need some advice or guidance on how to use them safely please get in touch. We are available to help.

Wednesday Morning Coffee Club in the Clubhouse
So much better than 'Costa' and the view is magnificent - catch up for a 'social' coffee with other club members

Sailing is great fun, Apres Sail is very sociable
Thank you to all the volunteers who help with all our club racing - out in the bay, in the Race Hut and in the clubhouse. We can't go sailing without you.
Don't be shy, if you're interested in sailing or helping, don't wait to be asked, just come down to the clubhouse and get involved, in the clubhouse, in the Race Hut, or on the water.

Be There or Be Forever Square

Cheers and Beers
