Sailing last Week There was no sailing last Thursday due to the lack of wind and although Sunday morning dawned bright and sunny the sea was flat calm. By 10am the rail on the terrace at the clubhouse was lined with eager, hopeful faces and their patience was rewarded with a slightly late start in a building sea breeze. There were 11 boats on the start line and at least a couple more pottering about in the bay.
In the absence of our Fleet Captain there was some very competitive racing on a tight course in the roads.
The sea breeze kept building into a glorious sail in waves and sunshine and everyone came ashore with a smile on their face.
Well done Mark '10 gallon hat' S for his podium finish in the first race and congratulations to Doctor 'Stainless' Roger B for winning the second race in style, proudly watched by Crista 'Apple of my eye' B in White Eagle.
A big thank you to Crista B and Mike R in White Eagle and Brian 'oh dear Spurs' Mac in the Race Hut for not only waiting on the breeze but also providing some really enjoyable racing.
Thanks also to Adrian M for manning the rope winch.
