Hello Sailors
Axe Yacht Club Regatta
There is no club sailing this Sunday 30th June because our neighbours, Axe YC are hosting their 'at Home' weekend.
There are races at 11am on Sunday morning for Mirrors, Toppers, Lasers, Gulls, Luggers, Cruisers - in fact anything that floats and sails.
For more information, click on the picture below to access their website or give me a ring and I will be able to clue you up.
On Sunday afternoon there will be a BBQ and prizegiving. The bar will be open, the locals are very friendly, in fact it's a sociable gathering which I can thoroughly recommend.
Please make a big effort to support our neighbours because we will be hoping they will reciprocate for our regatta in August !
Club Sailing This Thursday
Summer is here and the breeze is set fair for Thursday evening. Be there or Be Square.
Patrol Boat and Race Hut Duties for Sailing Members
A big thank you to Mike R and Hugh S for their sterling efforts in the patrol boat and to Brian A, Brian Mac, Bill G and Adrian M in the Race Hut
I can now add to that list with a 'mention in dispatches' for Stuart J, Paul K and Keith I who have come forward in the last couple of weeks. Mike and I have a few more lined up but we are still looking for volunteers, as we all know they are worth 10 pressed men - so please be pro active and get in touch because we'll be getting to you soon anyway.
Monday Evenings in the Clubhouse Bar
The Luggers programme is well and truly underway. They make a fine sight on a Monday evening. The clubhouse terrace is a fine viewing platform. And thanks to Derek and Adam, the bar is open for a welcome sundowner.
Winch Volunteers
There's no better sight for for the patrol boat crew than to see some willing volunteers waiting to help 'White Eagle' safely back to it's berth on the beach
Sailing Club Winches
The Sailing Club winches are there to make life easier for everyone to go sailing. If you need some advice or guidance on how to use them safely please get in touch. We are available to help.
The Sailing School is also up and running....Well Done Alan and Tony
Beer Sailing School
If you know anyone who is interested in learning to sail or to 'drive' please contact our Sailing School Principal Alan Burley @ beersailingschool@hotmail.co.uk

Thursday Evenings in the Clubhouse Bar
Opening the bar on a regular basis has proved a great success. So if you fancy a 'sundowner' on a Thursday evening this summer, the bar is open 7pm - 10pm thanks to Di T, Heather A and Jim C
Wednesday Morning Coffee Club in the Clubhouse
So much better than 'Costa' and the view is magnificent - catch up for a 'social' coffee with other club members
Cheers and Beers
