WELCOME
Sheltering behind Beer Head in the picturesque fishing village of Beer, the Sailing Club provides sailing for all levels of experience. We are a friendly club where everyone is made to feel very welcome and along with great sailing, we have an excellent social programme.
We are delighted to announce that we have recently joined forces with the historic Beer Lugger Club, which will operate going forward as a Racing Class under the auspices of Beer Sailing Club.
Organised dinghy sailing takes place on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings from Spring until the Autumn. Whilst we are always looking for experienced dinghy sailors to join our racing fleet, our prime focus is to get as many people out enjoying the sheltered waters of the bay. We run a number of fun development sailing days and sail aways through the season as we seek to get social sailors more involved. For 2023, Sunday morning sailing will also be more relaxed with everyone welcome to get involved.
Lugger racing takes place on Monday evenings from mid-May until early September. It is a unique and spectacular sight to see these beautiful boats launching from the beach and sailing in the bay.
Members can also store dinghies, kayaks and rowing boats on the beach at extra cost.
Our fabulous clubhouse is perched on the cliff looking over the beach – what better place to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple whilst watching the action on the water? Coffee and homemade cakes are served every Wednesday morning from 10am until 12noon throughout the season, with members and visitors alike welcome to come and enjoy the views from the terrace.
We have a full programme of activities planned for 2023, both on and off the water; full details of our Sailing and Social Events can be found on our BSC EVENTS CARD and our LUGGER EVENTS CARD.
